Megan Smith is a Licensed and Registered Dietitian working throughout the DMV area. She received her Bachelors degree from James Madison University and completed her dietetic internship program at the University of Maryland at College Park.
Megan uses a self-loving and intuitive based approach with her clients, emphasizing and encouraging a non-judgmental, open, and honest relationship towards oneself and food. She believes every client deserves a nutrition & wellness plan customized to fit personality, lifestyle, and physical and mental health status. She is passionate and determined to provide that for her clients. Mindful living is a goal she strives for daily and she finds she ends up learning a lot about this from her patients!
In addition to working at CCPW, Megan works as a Consultant Registered Dietitian doing nutrition counseling, education, and kitchen demonstrations for low-income populations. She is also a Long Term Care Dietitian in southern Maryland. To stay connected in her field she serves as Fundraising Chair to the largest group of nutrition and dietetic professionals in the DC area known as DCMAND. Additionally, Megan is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer.
Megan believes that all people, dietitians included, can benefit from seeing a dietitian. She hopes to help people sift through and understand the vast array of misinformation that exists surrounding nutrition and fitness; while also providing an outlet to help people develop a positive relationship with food.
