Sara Battista

Sara Battista is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor from the DC area. She prides herself on fostering an accepting and compassionate therapeutic environment, which invites authenticity without fear of judgement. Sara has a collaborative counseling style and strives to support clients in creating value-consistent, goal-directed change. Sara specializes in the treatment of eating disorders, mood disorders, anxiety and adjustment issues— with a special interest in working with college students and young adults. She works with individuals of all genders, and hopes to empower clients to make choices consistent with a healthy, balanced lifestyle.

Sara’s approach is flexible, allowing her to tailor her interventions to meet the unique needs of each client. In her work with adolescent and adult clients, Sara integrates evidenced based practices (such as DBT, ACT and CBT), with positive psychology and alternative interventions—including mindfulness and meditation. She is passionate about the benefits of a holistic, comprehensive treatment approach, and works closely with clients’ treatment teams to coordinate multi-disciplinary care with an emphasis on mind-body wellness.

In her free time, Sara enjoys spending time with her rescue dog, Penelope, and tending to her ever-growing collection of succulents.
